Buckeye fly? The Buckeye flys at a constant speed of about 30 mph, all the time. Even if you shut the engine off you are still flying at 30 mph. The reason for this is due to the fixed forward glide speed designed into the parachute. |

| Do I need a pilots license to fly the Buckeye? | Buckeye uses the most reliable engines available. When maintained properly, our reports have shown that engines achieve 400 - 600 hours before an overhaul is necessary. Maintenace costs, consisting of air filters, spark plugs, gear oil, etc. are normally about $100.00 per year. |
| There are no license required to fly the Buckeye single place models. However, you need a (BFI) Basic Flight Instructor rating to fly and take passengers on the Buckeye two-place models. You must log a minimum of 25 hours of solo flight time, at which time your Buckeye Dealer can give you the required oral and written tests. | ![]() |
| How much wind can I fly the Buckeye in? | |
| It is not recommended to fly the Buckeye in wind conditions exceeding 12 - 15 mph. Most pilots prefer to fly the Buckeye in the morning and late afternoon and into the evening when the wind conditions are most calm. | |
